General Questions

How does the BRNKL work?

BRNKL works similar to a cell phone, it connects to global cellular networks and pushes data to our app when it’s available. By connecting the BRNKL to your boat’s critical components, BRNKL products use the free BRNKL app (available for Apple and Android) and web platform to alert you whenever there is an event on your vessel. The free BRNKL app also allows you to view all of the status updates being sent from your vessel and view them on a simple graph to identify any trends. Put simply, with BRNKL products, you’re always connected to your vessel.

How large are BRNKL products?

The BRNKL base unit has the following dimensions:  4.75″ x 3.75″ x 2″ or 12cm x 9.5cm x 5cm

Does a BRNKL device require power wires to work?

The BRNKL base unit requires between 9V and 48V DC into any one of the four battery inputs in order to charge the BRNKL. If the BRNKL loses external power it will remain online for up to a month under normal conditions.

Will I be notified when the battery in my BRNKL is running low?

Yes. You will receive in-app reminders when your battery runs low. The BRNKL app also has a battery-level indicator that you can check at anytime.

Are there any additional fees involved?

The BRNKL product requires a monthly (or annual) service fee, which covers the cellular data plan and storage of your photographs taken by the BRNKL.

Installation

Can I mount the BRNKL device to other surfaces such as glass?

Yes. The BRNKL supports RAM Mounts, which are extremely versatile mounts that allow you to attach your BRNKL virtually anywhere. The model of RAM Mounts that attaches to the back of the BRNKL base is RAM-B-202U.

Will I have to purchase anything at the hardware store in order to install my BRNKL device?

Yes. The BRNKL does not include electrical wires necessary to connect to your boat’s components. These wires are not included simply because every boat is laid out differently requiring various lengths of cable.

Compatibility

What version of iPhone, iPad, or Android will I need?

Apple devices must be iOS 9 or newer. Android devices must be version 4.1 or newer.

Are BRNKL devices compatible with Windows or Blackberry devices?

We have not developed an app for Windows or Blackberry devices, however users can use their web browser to login to their vessel through app.brnkl.io.

Do BRNKL devices work with multiple users?

Yes. You are able to add multiple users to monitor a single vessel. Only one user will be the ‘owner’ of the vessel who can add and remove additional users.

Payment

What kind of payment security do you have in place? 

All credit card information is processed by Stripe, a third party company (https://stripe.com). Your connection with our servers and Stripe is made through HTTPS, the standard secure protocol for handling sensitive information.

Is there a warranty for BRNKL products?

Yes. There is a one-year parts and labor warranty.

Will I receive an invoice for my BRNKL product?

After you place your order, we will send you a purchase confirmation e-mail.
