Why monitor your boat at the marina, a trip to Ottawa, and the fastest female sailors.
We just turned our clocks forward and spring on the West Coast is finally within reach.
If you’re getting your boat ready for the spring and summer, let us know if you have questions about how to best secure and monitor it. Make this season the best one yet!

Did you know that out of all the recreational boats that sink, 69% of them sink at the dock*? It makes sense, since a boat spends most of its time tied up without anyone aboard to notice critical issues. Even if your marina has top-notch security, accidents happen and equipment failures can go unnoticed, leading to expensive or irreversible damage. Head to our blog for 10 ways a monitoring system protects your boat at the marina!

Did you know that the technology behind BRNKL products also helps protect military vessels? Last month, Brandon visited Ottawa to proudly showcase BRNKL Black (our sensor hub for government and military boats), and our work with the Royal Canadian Navy and Coast Guard. It’s hard not to leave inspired when so many industry leaders, government officials, and military representatives all come together to share ideas and collaborate.
In honour of International Women’s Day on March 8th, we’re highlighting the exciting news of the first-ever Women’s race in the 37th America’s Cup. Set to take place in Barcelona in 2024, Canada (our home team!) is sending a team of women to compete, led by top racer Isabella Bertold.
Fun fact: Barnacle team members Brandon and Cassidy play volleyball with Maggie Drinkwater, who will also be part of team Canada’s race. We’re excited to follow the team’s journey!
Can you imagine being under 5 years old and having already sailed across the ocean? That’s what Willa and Bodhi aboard Sailing Nahoa will be able to say!
Our friends Ashley and Ben (with their two little ones) just finished crossing the Indian Ocean and rounded the Cape of Good Hope – an epic achievement for everyone involved! Lucky for us, they documented the whole journey. Check out the video where they complete this milestone.
Warmer weather is around the corner, which means boating season is just a few short months away. Add a security and monitoring system so your boat is ready for every adventure you have planned.
